While the industry is yet to see a harmonized corporate actions market, industry groups are constantly helping push the topic up the agenda. This year, corporate actions is expected to be one of the areas firms will still invest in as there is an immediate need to reduce risk and the potential for financial losses. The industry discussions are now focused on assessing opportunities for improving data quality by introducing the data tagging standard eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) at the issuer-level and moving to a ‘near real-time’ corporate actions data distribution model.
Speakers:
Karla McKenna, Director of Global Transaction Services at Citi, America’s Regional Director at the Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG) Steering Committee and Co-Chair of the SMPG Corporate Actions Working Group | |||
