Event Overview
Business intelligence (BI) is well established as a priority area for IT decision-makers, and many organisations have invested in tools and technologies to better understand the performance of their operations. But the BI market is changing as mergers and acquisitions among the major suppliers take place in response to a rapidly shifting landscape.
The demands of users are evolving and BI is becoming a more integrated aspect of organisations’ overall IT strategy. Every part of a business is collecting vast amounts of data and needs to turn it into meaningful information – which means BI is no longer the exclusive preserve of finance or top management. Effective decision making at all levels relies on the insights that BI can provide.
In this Computing web seminar, in association with Oracle, we examine the emerging best practice in ensuring that BI delivers benefits throughout your organisation. Our panel of experts will discuss the role of BI and how to integrate it into your wider IT strategy. You will hear real-life case studies of organisations that have put BI into action and have an opportunity to put your questions to our expert speakers.

As an active analyst, Martin is also responsible for covering the rapidly evolving areas of Business Service Management (BSM), IT Service Management (ITSM), and application delivery. This includes intelligence gathering from vendors and users of solutions in this space.
One area Martin is particularly interested in is the relationship between industry-specific drivers and dynamics, and ITrelated strategies and requirements. The reality is that this area remains a challenge for many suppliers, often hampering their ability to tune into the requirements of their customers, and Martin is committed to helping close this gap and drive better alignment between the two camps. As part of this, he has accumulated significant research and project experience in the Manufacturing, Financial Services, Energy, Utilities and Retail sectors during his career.
Martin has been an industry analyst since 1997, and prior to joining Freeform Dynamics, held a variety of positions within Datamonitor, running research teams exploring industrial automation, enterprise applications, mobility, security, integration and IT service delivery.
